Farrow & Ball’s deep-matte finishes read the wall in ways ordinary paint doesn’t. Sanding scratches, spackle flash, drywall paper telegraphing through the primer — anything less than a level-5 surface will show up under Estate Emulsion in raking daylight.
We build the substrate to hold the finish: skim where it’s needed, spot-prime every patch and repair to kill flashing, tint the primer to the finish colour on saturated jobs, and roll with the nap the manufacturer specifies so the surface stipple is consistent from wall to wall.
Trim and cabinets in Modern Eggshell or Full Gloss get the same treatment on the woodwork side: sanded to break the sheen, dust-free, sealed against wood tannins that would otherwise bleed yellow through a waterborne topcoat.

Popular papers we’ve worked with: Tessella, Ranelagh, Amime, Broad Stripe, Ocelot, and pieces from the current Purnon Papers collection. If your designer has already specified a pattern, send us the SKU and we’ll estimate from the elevations.
F&B paper runs $340–$425 per roll direct. We’ll estimate labour after we see the walls — pattern repeat, ceiling height, and the number of windows and doors set the roll count.

We’ll walk the rooms with you, look at the light the walls actually get, and narrow the palette to two or three honest options. Then sample pots on the wall, at scale, in the actual light. No guessing from a chip in a store.
